Overview

Overview-The AMC Valley Forge trail crew maintains and improves the most popular trails at Valley Forge National Historical Park. We will be meeting at the Betzwood Bridge River Trail parking lot at the River Trailhead (far end of the lot past the bathrooms). We will hike along the River Trail and the Commissary Trail focusing on the wooden bridges where we will clean-up as necessary and apply anti-slip material to the tread area We will also assess and address the trails generally, prune impinging vegetation, clear fallen trees/branches, plan water bars and check steps and pick up trash. This is a MODERATE hike while carrying tools and materials. Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking or work boots (no flimsy footwear, no open toes), bring water bottle and snack. Access to restroom at Betzwood parking lot. The park will provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - to include hard hats, work gloves, and safety glasses, as necessary. This event is subject to change or cancellation depending on the weather.
