Hike N.E.T. Mass Sections 1 and 2 from Rising Corner to MA Route 187 in Agawam. Hike distance of 6 miles with elevation gain of 700 feet. Requirements of the hike include wearing sturdy, closed toe hiking shoes, bring snacks and lunch, water (two liters for the average hiker), rain gear if the forecast calls for precipitation and hiking poles, if you use them. Dress in layers suitable for temperatures as forecast. Avoid cotton as it does not dry once wet. This hike requires a car spot. The hike starts at 9:00 at the parking area off Rt 187 at the Agawam/Westfield town line on the Agawam side of the line. GPS coordinates 42.104701, -72.695120. We will get into as few cars and drive to Rising Corner and beginning hiking.
