Mount Adams New Hampshire,
New Hampshire, White Mountains,
NH
Come and join us for an early winter hike to the second highest peak in the Northeast, Mount Adams. We hope for outstanding front row seats to a clear day view of the surrounding Northern Presidential Peaks including Mount Washington. Also in view is the Carter-Moriah Range to the East and the Pliny and Pilot Ranges and beyond to the north. Those seeking to participate in this group hike will be experienced winter hikers with knowledge of their own layering system/heat management as well as possess and know how to use all of the required gear including; microspikes, crampons, snowshoes, facemask, and goggles. The trip will cover ten miles with 4400 feet of gain over steep and rocky terrain with snow and ice present in cold and possibly windy conditions. The breaks will be short and the pace will be a moderate 1-1.5 MPH and you should expect to be moving on your feet for 8-9 hours. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
