Join AMC for a beginner winter hiking weekend at Highland Center, set in the picturesque White Mountains of New Hampshire. This weekend is perfect for those new to winter hiking as well as seasoned adventurers looking to refine their winter skills. Your weekend begins with a warm welcome and orientation upon arrival on Friday evening. Settle into the comfortable accommodations at the Highland Center before meeting your AMC Guides and fellow participants. You'll get an overview of the weekend's activities and what to expect, followed by a hearty dinner at the lodge. On Saturday, dive into engaging classroom sessions designed to equip you with essential winter hiking knowledge. These interactive discussions cover topics such as gear essentials, route planning, safety considerations, and practical winter tips and tricks. After the classroom sessions, you'll put your new skills to the test on day hikes from the lodge, applying what you've learned in real-world conditions. The day concludes with a cozy dinner and evening at the lodge. Sunday builds on this foundation with morning sessions that delve into more winter skills followed by a final day hike to practice building skills and confidence for future winter adventures. Whether you're just starting out in winter hiking or looking to polish your skills, this Winter hiking weekend at the Highland Center offers the perfect opportunity to gain skill and confidence in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
