Join us for a challenging winter backpack to Madison and Adams. After climbing onto the Presidential Ridge we will camp above treeline in the col between Madison and Adams and will enjoy sunset from the top of the Madison. On Sunday we will pack up camp and enjoy the sunrise near our campsite before summitting Adams. We will then return to the camp and continue back to the cars. In case of bad weather above treeline we will camp below treeline and attempt both Madison and Adams on Sunday. Previous winter backpacking experience is required. Due to the challenge of carrying heavy winter packs up significant elevation, we will likely maintain a slow pace. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or lack of snow cover above treeline, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
