This 5.7 mile loop hike takes us up Mt Morgan with a ridge hike to Mt Percival. There is a possible 2.6 mile add on out and back to Mt Squam. The Mt Squam add-on is part of the ridge hike and depends on the group's decision. If you have not hiked this route, it is fantastic. After a steady climb, Morgan Trail 1.6 miles, nearing the top of Mt Morgan you're at the point where you will be dared to squirm your way through the granite labyrinth, Terrifying 25, to the summit. Too much fun. Those that do not wish to do this portion will make a short hike around this area to the top where we meet the rest of the group. To say the least, the view from the top is magnificant. You will see expansive views of Squam Lake, aka On Golden Pond and beyond that, famous 28 mile long Lake Winnipesaukee. The only lake in New England with a Pontoon Airplane Airport. The views from here are also of the surrounding Belknap Mt and the Ossipee Mt ranges. Now journey on the, C. Ridgepole .8 mile beautiful forested ridge hike with some limited views, to Mt Percival. The 2nd granite Terrifying 25 section is located here and again with your choice you may climb down this portion. Both Terrifying 25's are short sections. Mount Percival also has similar beautiful views of the lakes region. We will decide whether to add on the 2.6 mile ridge hike to Mt Squam and back to Mt Percival. Final stretch is 2.4 back out the Mt Percival trail. Leaders will contact you upon your sign up info. THIS IS CHANGE OVER SEASON SO PLEASE BE PREPARED WITH FALL/WINTER GEAR. A gear list will be sent to confirmed participants. You will be asked if you have the appropriate equipment & clothing.
