Garrison Metro North station NY 10524,
New York, Hudson River Valley,
NY United States
Let's start the new year with a short hike near the Garrison MetroNorth train station. If you've been on hikes with me in the past, then you might remember that I absolutely love this area for a short day hike not far from NYC. It's no surprise then, that I'll start 2025 enjoying such a wonderful trail. Read on for the details if you'd like to join me. We will begin our hike of just under 4 miles from the trailhead. We'll start on The Glenclyffe Loop Trail which meanders through scenic woodlands that connect us back to the Arden Point Trail. We'll then follow the winding trail along the Hudson River leading to a rocky bluff known as Arden Point where you have wonderful river views both north and south, including a a view of West Point on the opposite shore. Combined, these trails make for a great beginner hike for anyone looking to venture out of the city and enjoy an lovely walk in the woods without being too far away from civilization. Although the trails aren't too technical, we will have plenty of rocks, roots, and a few sections that'll require a bit of uphill climb. We will take our time through those sections and take breaks as needed. Meeting Point will be at the trailhead located at the end of the parking lot.
