Overview

Meet at 10 a.m. to hike at 10:15 a.m. from the trailhead near 4 Shepherds Trail, Madison; park along the street on the south side of the road. This 6-mile moderate paced loop hike passes through three properties managed by the Madison Land Conservation Trust: Shepherds Trail, Bailey Trail North, and the Summer Hill Trail, plus it visits the southern end of the RWA's Lake Hammonasset property. The hike has an estimated 800 feet of elevation gain. There are a couple of rock scrambles to traverse, so hiking poles are recommended. No dogs, per water company policy.
