Telemark instruction for all levels: first-timers to advanced. Why Telemark? Skiing with a free-heel and boots that flex at the toes enables comfortable hiking over flats, on traverses, or climbing with skins. It provides seamless mobility all over the mountain with quick transitions. Turning is different - the lunge position makes turns over a longer arc and keeps you from falling forward. It is an aerobic sport that builds leg strength and balance. There will be three groups: beginner/novice, intermediate, and advanced with volunteer instructors for each (a PSIA instructor for the advanced group). The cost for this clinic is $100, the group rate for Waterville Valley. There is no fee for those with Indy or WV season pass. Rental gear is available nearby. To reduce costs, Boston chapter will cover 50% of rental skis and boots for a limited number of people (contact leader for rental gear details). Registration is required so we can coordinate passes and instructors. Once registered, the leader will contact you for payment. Cancellation by Jan 28 allows a full refund minus Paypal fees. Cancellation on or after January 29 will receive a refund, minus PayPal fees, if vacancy gets filled.
