In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.

Overview

Located in Rothrock State Forest, near State College. This is a 20 mile, 2 day early season trek for experienced backpackers that can handle unpredictable weather and potential frosty conditions. Day 1: Trek 13 miles, mostly level terrain with one significant climb. Traverse Tussey Mountain ridge (extremely rocky) with scenic views of Ferguson and Pine Grove Mills. Day 2: Trek 7 miles, with one significant climb and follow a jeep track back to vehicles. Participants will be WAITLISTED and required to submit a list of references if I have not backpacked with you in the past. Contact trip leader for detailed information and vetting purposes.
