A moderate paced hike of 7 - 8 miles through contiguous conservation areas in Framingham and Sudbury, including Nobscot Conservation Land, the Nobscot Scout Reservation and Chickatawut Woods. We will hike up both Nobscot Hill (the highest point of the Bay Circuit Trail) and Tippling Rock which features views of the surrounding valley and the Boston skyline. The total elevation gain of the route is around 1,100 ft and includes some steep trails up Nobscot Hill (elevation of 600 ft). The route also includes a scramble up to the rocky crown of Tippling Rock (elevation of 426 feet). The route includes moderate and steep slopes, rocks and roots with wide and narrower forest paths. Plan to be out for 5 hours. Wear sturdy hiking shoes. Be prepared for a possibly muddy or flooded trail. Wear moisture wicking layers and clothing appropriate for the weather. Bring the following in your Day Pack: a lunch and snacks, 2 liters of water. A hat, gloves/mittens/scarf. Microspikes may be required depending on the conditions. Hiking poles are recommended if you use them. Meeting location will be emailed to participants about 2 days prior to the hike. The hike will be canceled if there is steady rain/ snowstorm and/or unsafe road conditions. No dogs allowed on the hike, thanks for understanding The hike leaders reserve the right to adjust the route if conditions warrant and cannot guarantee the hike will be completed by any specific time.
