Wompatuck State Park, Hingham,
Massachusetts, Boston Area,
MA United States
Join us as we explore Wompatuck State Park. We will hike 5 to 6 miles at a moderate pace. There are some rolling hills but minimal elevation. Wompatuck State Park spans over 3,500 acres of forest, streams and ponds, across four towns: Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate and Norwell. The land originally belonged to Native American Chief Josiah Wompatuck, who reportedly deeded it to the early settlers in 1655. The park was also the site of the former Hingham Naval Ammunition Depot Annex (known by locals as the "Cohasset Annex"), which was in use from 1941 until 1962. Water, snacks, appropriate hiking footwear and winter-appropriate clothing are required. If we are lucky enough to have snow, we will require spikes and/or snowshoes. Please contact us with any questions. Registration is required for this activity.

Driving and parking directions will be provided to registered hikers two days before the hike.
