Overview

Join us on this hike at Rocky Woods, a Trustees of Reservations property with 6.5 miles of trails that wind through 491 acres of varied terrain including rolling hills and scenic ponds. Rocky Woods, with one foot within the Charles River watershed and the other foot within the drainage of the Neponset River, is a year-round destination for outdoor lovers. Our hike will be about 6 miles with total elevation of approximately 500-600 feet. Our pace will be 1.5-2.0 mph with one moderate climb to Lookout Point, the site of a former fire tower. The hike may be shortened depending on the trail conditions and overall weather that day. Please wear sturdy footwear, bring hat/gloves/mittens, and dress in suitable layers for January winter conditions (wicking base layers, fleece or down, no cotton please). Trails conditions may likely require micro spikes or possibly even snowshoes. Bring a trail lunch/snack and water. There is a $6 parking fee for non-members of the Trustees at the self-service kiosk (via credit card); Trustees members use their member number to register for the parking.
