Bioreserve Fall river,
Massachusetts, Southeast,
MA
Meet time is 9:45 am at the parking lot near Watuppa Reservation Headquarters on Blossom Rd. Enjoy a moderate 6 mile hike in the Fall River Bioreserve 16,000 acres in the heart of the Southeastern Massachusetts region. We'll get a chance to explore some interesting areas of the bioreserve. The hike will include a small section of the 20 mile loop trail, Copicut Woods discovery trail, King Phillip's spring and the Corduroy trail. You must have recently walked a comparable distance. Trails are mostly flat. Be prepared to step over tree roots, some rocks and wet/muddy trails. Although deer hunting season ends December 31, I still recommend you wear blaze orange. Waterproof hiking shoes, rain gear, water, and snacks/lunch required. Cotton clothing is not recommended especially during cold, wet and snowy conditions. If the tails are icy or snow covered, snow shoes or traction devices will be required. Weather, pace or trail conditions may shorten the hike. The hike might be canceled due to heavy or steady rains.

Set your GPS or map finder to 2929 Blossom Road, Fall River. (Some apps will provide the address for Westport. Same place.) DO NOT FOLLOW GPS INSTRUCTIONS TO DRIVE TO THIS LOCATION VIA BIORESESRVE ROADS FROM THE NORTH. THOSE ROADS ARE UNDRIVABLE. This address is about 100 yards beyond our parking lot. From the north, take 24S to 195E. Take the Sanford Rd/N. Westport exit. From Old Bedford Rd, turn left to Blossom Road. When the road gets a bit rough, you'll pass several closed yellow gates. Then 300 yards from the address, there will be an open gate with a sign. If the lot is full, park on the shoulder. This is a very lightly traveled road.
