Please join us for a hike on two popular properties that are part of the 1,600 acre Westport Land Conservation Trust in Westport, MA. During our hikes we will encounter oak and mixed hardwood forests, brooks, ponds and an open meadow. The first hike will be at the Herb Hadfield Conservation Area and the second hike will take place at Westport Woods Conservation Park. Both properties are on Adamsville Road in Westport and the trailheads are only one mile apart. The combined distance of the hikes will be approximately 7 miles with total elevation of between 200 - 300 feet. We will travel at a moderate pace. There are some rocks and roots to navigate when we hike the Westport Woods trail. Based on the weather at the time of the hike, microspikes or snowshoes may be required. Please bring 1-2 liters of water, snacks and/or a light lunch. Dress appropriately for February weather with non-cotton layers and waterproof trail runners or hiking boots.
