This hike is a 9.3-mile loop on the Appalachian Trail with plenty of rocks and a fun but challenging hill climb leading to Pulpit Rock, and then a very rocky but pleasant hike along the ridge to the Pinnacle (climb about 800' in 2.7 miles, then it's pretty level). We will return via an access road down past the reservoir back to the parking lot. This is not a beginner hike! We will average around 2.5 mph overall and should be finished before 1:30pm (about 4 hours total including brief break for snack at Pinnacle). Highly recommend broken in hiking boots with good, make that great, ankle support. Please bring water and calories for 4 or 5 hours in the woods. A fully charged cell phone is a good idea, but cell service may be spotty. I love dogs, but not on this hike. Inclement weather cancels. I'll post here at least 2 hours before hike starts if cancelled.
