Meet at 9:15 for a prompt 9:30 start for this easy hike to the tower atop Sleeping Giant. It's about three miles total. We'll stay on the Tower Trail. No dogs. As there might be snow and/or ice, hiking footwear with good traction is a must. Carrying spikes and poles is recommended. Bring water, snack, personal medications and first-aid supplies. Meet in the main parking lot (on the right as you enter the park.) There are usually porta-potties here, but a pit stop in advance is recommended. The address is 200 Mount Carmel Avenue, Hamden. Limit 15. Hikers must PRE-REGISTER WITH THE LEADER BY E-MAIL no later than 6 p.m. the night before the hike: [email protected]. Rain or heavy snow (either falling or on the trail already) will cancel the hike.
