Approximately 8 miles with 1600 feet of elevation change on various trails at People's taking the Agnes Bowen trail to Charles Pack up to the vistas on the Jessie Gerard Trail. This hike includes several separate steep climbs and descents over rocky terrain and beautiful views. The pace will be moderate with a snack and lunch breaks. We will meet at the Matthies Grove parking lot near the restrooms. The leader may change the trails taken based on conditions at the time. We will practice the silent mile. Meet at 9:00 and begin walking at 9:15am. Please dress in layers, wear hiking boots, and carry sufficient water and lunch/snacks. Poles and micro-spikes are recommended. Limited to 10 hikers. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY E-MAILING LEADER. Anyone who has not previously hiked on trip leader's hikes which require preregistration should provide information about their recent comparable hiking experience (average miles and terrain). Rain/snow cancels excursion.
