Overview

This is an introduction to winter hiking above tree-line event. We will hike 4.4 miles with an elevation gain of 1800 feet. Our pace will be a moderate (1.5 mph). Participants must be in good physical condition with recent hiking experience. Full winter gear is required, including head to toe wind gear, micro spikes, mountaineering snowshoes, and full crampons. Preference will be given to 11/02/24 Worcester Chapter Winter Hiking Workshop attendees. Please see the Winter Hiking Gear List Track 2 link below.

Mike Smith, 4 Season hike and backpack leader for the Worcester Chapter. 25 year AMC Member. Recently moved to NH in order to have more access to the beautiful White Mountains. I love introducing people to the White Mountains and other Mountains in the U.S. and abroad. I am certified in WFA and CPR.

Sue has been an AMC member since 2020. She enjoys hiking year-round, 3-season backpacking, working on the 52WAV and has completed the NH48. Past highlights included the Presidential Traverse and Mt. Katahdin. Sue is looking forward to leading in 2024 and meeting hiking enthusiasts.
