Crotched Mountain,
New Hampshire, Monadnock Region,
NH
This is a beautiful winter loop hike in southern New Hampshire ! Join John and Jon for a winter hike which passes winter wet lands, beaver ponds, and includes a fabulous rocky ridge traverse, with limited views through trees. We will follow a loop trail north east, a ridge to the west and return south via the west ridge. This area typically has animal tracks including deer, snow shoe hare and bob cat. As a bonus, we can try to find the old man of Crotched mountain, in stone. HIKE: Link Trail, Summit East Tr, Summit West (descend loop), Link Trail return. 6 MILES total, 1200 FEET ascent. We will hike at a slow to moderate pace.
