Overview

Winter unveils wildlife habits like no other season. Footprints, gait patterns, and other signs not only reveal the inhabitants of the forest, but the behaviors of wildlife we seldom see. Families and Adults, Join AMC Family leader Dawne Piers-Gamble at Noble View Outdoor Center Russell, MA for Wildlife Tracking with certified tracker and AMC leader Jim Pelletier. Come learn the art of tracking and spy on wildlife foraging practices and travel corridors. Jim shares tips on identification techniques and where to look for wildlife activity in your own backyard. Please Register for one session: Families hike from 10:00 AM to 12:00, followed by cocoa, stories and games with Dawne Piers-Gamble in the cottage at the View. Adults and Teens hike from 1:00-3:00 PM with AMC leader Jim Pelletier. Please indicate which session you would like to sign up for and the name and ages of children joining you for the morning hike. Dress in (non-cotton) layers for winter conditions. Winter boots, mittens, hat and warm socks are essential! Snowshoes, poles and micro spikes may be indicated. Let's hope for snow! Dawne serves as an AMC hike and family leader, and flatwater paddle leader, Chair of WMA Justice, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. (JDEI) and Adopt a Trail volunteer coordinator at Noble View Outdoor Center.
