Overview

Let's keep active in the outdoors as the winter progresses on this early morning (i.e., before work) hike! Discover the Wayne F. McCallum Wildlife Management Area in Westborough. We'll traverse fields, wooded areas, and go by Lake Chauncy and other ponds enjoyed by birds of all kinds. ~ 4.5 miles on easy-to-average terrain at a fast-to-very-fast (2-2.5+mph) pace with moderate elevation gain. Bring water, snacks, a headlamp, a weighted pack, and poles to maximize the fitness benefits. As hunting is allowed in the area, have blaze orange attire at the ready. Be sure to tuck a pair of trail spikes in your pack and have snowshoes available in case we get some freshly fallen snow. Don't forget the coffee! Limited to 6 (including leader) fit and prepared hikers. Heavy rain / unsafe driving conditions will cancel the hike.
