Fly to Las Vegas, NV. Explore Death Valley National Park, Valley of Fire
State Park and Red Rocks National Conservation Area. Enjoy moderate to
challenging day hikes, 5 to 10 miles per day, gaining 500 to 2,500 feet,
at altitudes -282 to 10,000 feet. See wildflowers and wildlife.
Accommodations for the week at hotels in Las Vegas, NV and the scenic
and historic desert town of Stovepipe Wells, CA. Outside Las Vegas hike
among Red Rocks and Turtlehead Peak (6,323 ft.). Hike near sea level in
Death Valley, among desert environs within Golden Canyon, the Red
Cathedral, the Badlands, Gower Gulch and Mosaic Canyon. Also hike high
in the Panamint Mountains, possibly among snowfields, to Wildrose (9,054
ft.), Rogers (9,994 ft.) and Bennett (9,980 ft.) Peaks. Visit Badwater
Basin, Zabriske Point, Devil's Golf Course and Artist's Drive. Possible
visits to Darwin Falls, Rhyolite ghost town and Mesquite Sand Dunes.
